Holy Land Gift Pack – Tabgha Christian Souvenir
Tabgha - Church of the Multiplication of the loaves and fishes
Holy land Gift Pack- Jordan River Water , Jerusalem's Stones and Galilee Olive Oil
When evening came, the disciples approached Jesus and said, "This is a deserted place and it is already late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves." But Jesus replied, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat." They answered, "We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish." Jesus said, "Bring them here to me." He then instructed the people to sit on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, blessed the food, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples to distribute to the crowd. Everyone ate and was satisfied, and twelve baskets full of leftovers were collected. About five thousand men were fed, besides women and children.
(Matthew 14, 15-21)
Tabgha
The name Tabgha originates from the Greek term meaning “Seven Springs,” originally known as Heptapegon. During the Byzantine period, three water towers were built in this area to collect water from natural springs. The water was then transported through aqueducts to nearby agricultural fields for irrigation. In the 4th century, Christians identified Tabgha as the biblical location where Jesus performed the miracle of multiplying the loaves and fishes. Around 350 AD, the first church was constructed to commemorate this sacred event. In the 5th century, the Church of St. Peter’s Primacy was also built in Tabgha, marking the place where Jesus entrusted leadership of the apostles to Peter and later appeared to his disciples after the resurrection. The church was destroyed and eventually rebuilt in 1934.
These sacred elements carry deep spiritual significance for Christians worldwide. The Olive Oil symbolizes anointing and healing as referenced in scripture (Mark 6:13). The Earth from Bethlehem represents the holiness and heritage of the Holy Land (Mark 4:8). Water of the Jordan symbolizes the spiritual significance of baptism (1 Corinthians 12:13).
